Problems with 307 1.4 petrol.

A friend's daughter has a 2001 Peugeot 307 1.4 petrol and a few weeks back it started missing and 2 messages would come up on the display - one about the catalytic converter and the other about anti- pollution fault .
Tried a new coil pack as this is a common fail in them but no joy ; a scan then suggested inj no. 2 - this was changed, fault cleared but miss remains .
From what I've found out it seems the ECU could be the problem .
Apparently the only scanner that works well on those is Peugeot Planet which gives more accurate information - but I don't know anyone with one of those.
Had it scanned twice but info was very vague .
My question here is does anyone know of a place in Ireland that can check out the ECU if I bring it to them ; fitting a SH ECU means having to change other parts as well .
The car sailed through the NCT in Dec .
Any help/suggestions appreciated (located in Sth Galway ).

Had a similar problem with the same model. Changed coil packs, plugs, O2 sensors, oil pressure sensor, temp sensor all flagged by planet Peugeot. It worked for a bit but the car never ran properly again. It could be early signs of head gasket failure, check coolant for contamination Your friends daughter may not want to hear it but TBH they really ain't worth the hassle. For what she'll spend on parts she could get something else. They really are a shed of a car..

Is that the 1,360cc 75BHP TU3 engine? They're a little battleship. Clean the throttle-body and have a look at the ICV, they wear. It's also possible that the cat is past it. This all assumes elimination of a split in a $5 hose.

Why does this ask me to log in again when I press ' Submit Reply' and then my new post (Which was quite long ) disappears ???????
And it tells me at the time that I am still logged in

    Thanks for replies .
    Car is 1360 cc ,75hp , 8v .
Checked compressions - all very good with only slight variation .
Will check ICV - have checked all hoses carefully .
She had to get another car and wants to sell this - but not much chance in this condition . Was hoping if I got it sorted she would get a decent price for it as it is very clean with NCT to 12/16.

It could be the injectors. I've seen them go in those.

When I got it scanned after trying a new coil pack the code was for inj no.2 .
Replaced that with a second hand one and that code did not come back so I took it that injectors were now OK - but maybe not ?
Is there any way of checking injectors ? have checked the wiring from injs to ECU and all are OK
