Migraine

Been suffering from this condition for the last 5 years and aware when one is about to hit.
My doctor recently prescribed Zomig, which I took an hour into an attack. Initialy I thought I'd vomit the medication up, but it dissolved on the tongue, and I managed to hold off getting sick for maybe 10 minutes, but after 45 minutes at most, the nausea began to subside, as did the throbbing pain.
Still wiped out for the next 36 hours, but a huge improvement on past experience.

I feel for you, but great to hear you're getting relief!

I am in my 14th year of migraines. Mine usually last anything from 8 hours (if I'm very lucky) to 2 days solid. Zomig works for me sometimes but not others I find.

My gp prescribed me an anti-sickness medication to take when I get a migraine also. Unfortunately in recent months I developed cluster headache. Whole different ball game to migraine :(

If your migraines become consistent it's worthwhile discussing a preventative.

What preventative? I can tell maybe 8 hours beforehand if one is going to hit. Awful as the actual episode is, it's the physical exhaustion post an attack that is a bit disconcerting.

I hadn't had a migraine for years but I got one 2 weeks ago. Like you, I got warning signs. But I didn't listen to my body as I didn't recognise them as migraine. I started puking in work on Thursday afternoon and I went home to bed. Pills every two hours. Dark room. I woke up on Sunday morning having been essentially asleep through pain and I can't explain how exhausted I was. So exhausted I think it left my immune system low and I ended up with a bad chest infection.

Defo gonna keep track of migraines and try identity triggers. I lost nearly 4 days of my life to blinding pain and puking.

There are a number of medications you can take on a daily basis that can reduce the number and help prevent migraines

The exhaustion after a migraine is called post-drome and is really common. The feeling before a migraine is known as pro-drome.

Some people getting feelings of depression or elation even

I've suffered migraines all my life. I got my many amalgam fillings replaced with white ones and i have noticed a DRAMATIC reduction. Like a 90 percent reduction in frequency.

It's controversial, many dentists will disagree this is possible. I was desperate I would have tried anything. Still early days but three months later so far so good. Thank God.

My mother in law had migraines and cluster headaches. They really became less frequent when she got her atlas aligned. Other than that, my heart goes out to you. I heard that migraines are hereditary, and fortunately my husband didn't get them. I see my mil when she's on medication for the pain, and it look awful :/

Our 20 year old daughter has had severe migraines, she went onto the preventative treatment of Isoptin 240mg, she decided after 9 months migraine free to stop taking it, which is now 6 months ago and has only had 2 migraines since for which she took Frovex at the first sign
