PVC Hall Door problem . . . . .

New PVC hall door disfigured because builders didn't remove the thin protective film within six weeks!

Any ideas how to remove the film? which is now welded to the door. We've tried a hair drier with mixed results, and the door now looks like it has alopecia, with bare bits missing here and there, looks like a right old dogs dinner of a door

The builders have long gone, and the door manufacturer want's nothing to do with it (because they didn't install it)! Anyone got any magic ideas?

It's like clingfilm, but much stronger.

I have no idea how to post one of my pictures, but can you tell me more about PVC cleaner. The film is well ingrained in the door, although in parts you can scrape it off with your thumb nail, but the whole door needs a clean and face lift! and this was a new door before the builders 'cocked up'.

by not removing the protective film .....
