Tile to wooden flooring

Hi Guys I am buying a property which has tiled flooring in the kitchen, I would like to change to a wooden flooring. Do I need to take off the tile floor first to lay the wooden floor, is it expensive than laying a normal wooden flooring. Any comments welcomed thanks ...

Hi Guys

We just got laminate flooring throughout (minus the kitchen area) for fear of spillages. But if you are putting down laminate flooring then there is an underlay which goes down first, hence the underlying surface must be very smooth & flat to lay the underfloor/laminate on . . . . so if you are digging up your tiles remember this. We put down tiles in the kitchen because they are harder than laminate, tiles are also impervious to spillages.
