google chrome not opening

I use Chrome as my default browser, but when I click on it, it won't open, so I have to use Firefox.
I'd like to get back to Chrome as it's got all my passwords.
    I'm using Windows 8, I think.
    Any suggestions? Thanks

If you can't get chrome working you might be able access your saved passwords via http://passwords.google.com if you were signed into chrome using your Google account.

No joy-maybe I've inadvertantly disabled it?

Whenever you are trying to open it, does it have an error message?

NOt a thing- progress circle turns for 3 seconds then nothing.
However I managed to get it going again-no idea what I did, but it seems to be a bit of a problem,as I came across other threads highlighting it.
Thanks to all for the advice.
