    Hi

How do you find out what cabinet you are connected to? Reason I ask is local cabinet in Crusheen got upgraded but only one estate seems to have been upgraded to fibre.

    Thanks

    You don't.

If the cab is at the entrance to that estate its normal that it would be the distribution point fitted to serve it when it was built. Other cables often pass right by such and no they wont be re-routed.

After seeing your thread in the eir sub, Thats eVDSL so should be available out to max range. This should cover the three clusters of homes in the village.

    Try this:

You're not necessarily connected to the cab nearest to you. I'm not.

There's a cab about 120m away from me but I'm actually connected to one about 200m away. I only know that because I asked the KNN installer when he was installing it.

Wait a full month in case not everyone was prequalled first time around. The tests are re run each month.

Thanks for that, I rang vodafone the past few weeks and they thought I would get it but then again it's Eir doing upgrade and they don't have a view into that.

The cabinet is now marked as live so let's wait and see what happens. The KN guys were doing work around the estate last week so I am taking that as a positive sign. It also says 110 houses can get 100mb so fingers crossed.

Just realised more than 110 houses in the village so some will be disappointed
