I generally enjoy watching this show as it can be fun seeing the guest trying to put together a meal from scratch but my God where oh where do they get those insufferable diners who swan in on the red carpet in their best D4 accents and clothes and proceed to critique the food all the while doing their best posing and gurning for the cameras.

I know some of these shows will attract fame wannabees but why cant they just pick non-posh people to do the comments. I watched the last 4 episodes and every single one of the diners were posh, whats going on?

The restaurant in The Restaurant is the Courtyard in Donnybrook which is in Dublin 4. So believe it or not a lot of the patrons are from Dublin 4.

Agreed... And how do you qualifiy as a 'food blogger' ...WTF

Did u see the bluffer sampling the wine one week ... Its a Pinot Grigio- definitely. And it turns out to be a Sav Blanc. Why would u let TV make an edjit of you???

And they always seen to have a couple who have to bring a sad single guy with them!!

Oi, what's wrong with bringing a single along?

Are all us unattached not allowed to go out for a meal with our loved-up pals now???

(Not that I'd go to a filming of The Restaurant if you paid me! Went to something similar years ago, and you didn't get a minute's peace what with cameras, booms, interviews, interruptions, and seriously haphazard service. Not your ideal meal out, even if it was free!)

You apply to TV3 to go on. So to get on the Restaurant you first have to be the sort of person who would apply to go on it.

The restaurant is in Dublin 4, so it's no real surprise that the patrons have D4 accents. Tom Doorley's presence on the panel is a major turn off for me. He was critiquing fish fingers with Maura & Daithi not so long ago. I have no time for the man. Sean (not-FF) Gallagher was on last night and he did well. Kevin Kilbane & Pippa O’Connor were the best of the lot this time round.

Only posh people go to restaurants regularly and know a Souffle from an Omelette.

It's all down to how they pronounce "Roundabout"
If they pronounce it "Ruindabute" then they're posh knobs.
    I can't stand that accent.

Did Tom Doorley ever get the wine right?
