    Hello all,

A relative in London has spotted a 3 ton excavator on donedeal and asked me to go have a look at it for him.

He rang the seller about what he needs to take it back home to the UK with him but the seller didn't have a clue.

    Does anyone know the procedure?

As it's not registered like a car, it obviously wont have a 'tax / log book'. I presume a written receipt will be the minimum requirement. Is the seller private or a trader?

You should also check on this website to make sure it's not registered as stolen or 'finance owed' (they cover Ireland too) - https://www.ter-europe.org/

Also 'google' the seller and/or his phone number to see if he has other stuff for sale online, i.e. to see if he is a trader pretending to be a 'private' seller

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to look into it more and maybe call a few dealers and see how they do it.

Last thing anyone wants is to have a wasted trip to the port only to me turned away.
