anyone using gripshifts and shimano brakes?

I have set of gripshifts but thinking of changing from juicy7/bb5 combination to xt m8000 set. just wondering anyone using such a combination? asking as XT has very short levers (speed dials and juicy levers were ok but shimano seems much shorter).
