Custom zombies development

    I have found the YouTube tutorials rather confusing and they all use very different software or modding tools. Can somebody please help me on choosing a software to create custom zombie maps as well as short steps to making them (I know they aren't easy to make)?

    We'd need a little more information to help :)

    Is this for a game that's currently available? or are you making a game of your own?

    What platform is the game on?

    Is there an existing modding scene for the game?

    Well it's modding Call of Duty World At War on PC. Yes, in the main menu, there is an option called mods and in it, you can play custom zombies maps you have downloaded from the internet but I would like to make my own.
