I want to buy shares, mainly on the ISEQ. Will be doing all the research on the companies myself. I wouldn't be trading daily, weekly or even monthly. Would buy at €x hope to hang on to them for a year or 2 & hopefully sell at €x+y

How should I go about this?

    Thanks for any advice

Have a read of this and other threads that have asked this question countless times:
    What to do with €500

The first thing you need is an account with a broker, such as www.degiro.ie.

The process of buying/selling shares is easy, if you are willing to do the more challenging aspect ie research, explain it to me like an adult, why you need advice on the transaction?

Strap on a pair and stop behaving like a five year old would be my first recommendation. Who starts a thread like this FFS?! "Please help me double my money" is what you are asking, "oh sure, no problem guy". There's hundreds of thread about how to buy shares, do your own research and come back with non-five year old questions. Mods, please close this crap. Thread reported as bull****.

Like joe Kennedy, john f Kennedys father said when his shoe shine boy asked him what shares to buy, he said when a shoe shine boy asks me what shares to buy, its time to get out of them and he did, just before the great crash of the 1930' I might do the same when a 5 year old wants to buy shares.

Mod note: Ok guys keep it civil please, the OP came here looking for advice and not everyone has to start somewhere.

OP I suggest you do a search on the forum as there are plenty of threads offering advice on how to start.

I'm going to close this now before it starts getting out of hand.
