    Quick question,if I borrow a sky box and card from a friend in N.I will it work here in the republic and would I get the ITV and RTE channels and be able to record them,btw I live close to the border

    As far as I know you need a valid subscription to access the RTÉ channels with the NI card. ITV will work but you won't be able to record without a valid subscription.

    Thanks that's good to know,might just cancel my own sub and set up a new one in N.I and bring box home,might be cheaper too

    It is against sky"s terms and conditions to move a box and card from the address to which it is registered to another. To move it to another country is even worse. A NI sub does not give you all the Irish hahnnels and some programmes are blocked.

    We can't really allow discussion about this here, it's against Sky's T&Cs.

    You might want to consider a Freesat or Freeview PVR, which will accomplish the same thing.
