PRSI contribution?

    Hello all,

Went in for a routine dental clean and polish today, and was told that I didn't qualify for the PRSI free examination as I haven't made enough PRSI contributions to date (fair enough, I only moved here 18 months ago) and my health insurance pays me back almost the full amount so it doesn't really matter. Asked the receptionist what the qualifiers were (simply because I'm nosy) and she said it was something along the lines of 5 years worth of contributions.

Now, my partner is Irish born and raised, working and paying his contributions for the last 20 years but he's always paid full price as well so was surprised to hear about the 5 years. Anyone on here that might know more?

    Thanks
