Chips in paint/carbon; threads in tyres - should I worry?

I was cleaning the bike yesterday, and noticed that

    - there were a few loose threads sticking out of my Conti 4000S's. So I pulled one, and it ran around the tyre, leaving a little groove. Do I worry, or is this nothing? Sorry, the pic is a bit blurry, but the groove is just above the rim.

    - there was some paint missing from my chainstay. You can clearly see the layer of paint is gone for maybe a square cm or so. Is this cosmetic, or do I need to care?

    Thoughts from the hive mind?

    Cheers!

You should have a thick chain stay protector to stop chain damage...it looks cosmetic however would not have happened if protection was added.
The tire will be OK. ...any more threads do not pull.....cut wit scissors or burn with a cigarette lighter.
