Exporting a car

Have a question, for years I have had an old Honda civic coupe which I don't drive much anymore but I kept it Nct'd and drove it as a second car along with my Octavia. Being a 98 'car I'm wondering should I advertise the car for sale abroad since I don't think I could get much for it here with the strange new insurance rules going on. How would I even go about this?

As much as I'd love to keep it I don't think its logical to keep it anymore. I don't want to give it away either since its in fantastic nick.
A lad I know in Spain says I'd get 2k for one of these over there where as here its pretty much worthless. I have no idea about exporting as I've never done anything like this before.

How much would it cost you getting it over to there though?
They are still worth money here to the right person.

I am not sure about a 98 car but I had a luxury car with big petrol engine which I could no longer afford to run and found it almost impossible to sell here in Ireland. Eventually I sold it for buttons and afterwards discovered that the new owner was purchasing these type of cars for export. Correct me if I am wrong but I think he somehow was able to get a reclaim on the duty when exported so as well as getting the car cheap he was getting a tax kick back.

You can get a VRT rebate on export, but the revenue keep the first 500 of the refund, and afaik they OMSP has to be a minimum of €2000. There are other restrictions too,

Haven't a clue, have to check it out. Apparently they go for different value over there then here. Tenerife they go for quite abit to. I could export the car to my friend in Spain who I've known for years so I wouldn't be concerned about being put wrong. I'd head over myself for a few days as a small break and stay in his apartment and try and flog it then. That's what I'm thinking? If I dont sell it I can leave it with him and give him €100 for his trouble for flogging it for me.

A LHD car wouldn't really be worth much in a RHD country considering everything there is designed for a RHD car.
Try go to a drive-through or in or out of a parking garage.
