Door won't open

    Hows it going?

I have a 2010 seat leon and I'm having some trouble with the rear passenger side door.

When I unlock the car three doors are fine and open normally but the rear passenger side won't open. When I open the handle from inside the door will open and it can then be opened from outside no problem. When I lock and unlock the car again though it's back to square one.

Is the lock itself faulty or could it be something else? Need to get it sorted in case it goes altogether and can't be opened at all. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Any chance that the wiring loom running in to the door has been cut by someone attempting a break in?

I'd hazard a guess that its the electrical solenoid, they go in many of the VAG cars, you need to pull it out and either replace or try and fix it.

same happened to me in my current A6 2 yrs ago - identical symptoms. Hit a breakers for a replacement locking system. You should get out for 30€. I picked up one on Ebay at then time. Easy enough to swap out. And don't worry, it will not worsen; just a nuisance, but it's on the 'safe' side :)

It's possible that the little cable going to the outer handle needs adjusting.

    No, it's not that.

Cheers for the replies lads - appreciate it. Would I be better off just buying a new replacement lock instead of visiting a breakers? Would it be risky - could the lock from the breakers go the same way a month down the road?

price an original, then make your own mind up. Personally, I'd go 2nd hand.

I put a new one into my touran but only because the dealer I bought it from was paying part was dear €190

id chance a second hand one if I was paying even if you have to buy two or three of them your still saving and once you've fit it once you'll be quicker the next time
