I'm not very good at maths, but excel in English. I'll be doing geography and history too.

There is maths in economics, but it is basic. Business is a huge subject but it very enjoyable and extremely practical in the real world if you are into that and your English will stand to you as it stood to me. Economics is small but the questions can be very tough, business is easier but broader.

    Go for business.

A few of my friends do business and they say it's just a matter of learn stuff off and then regurgitate it in the exam. Little to no thought involved but in fairness they do seem to learn some practical and useful stuff.

Go for business. I'm doing it now in 5th year and i like it. I think its the easiest LC Subject in my opinion. it's mainly just theory and you actually learn about things that'll be useful after you leave school. the course is quite long but once you put in the time to study you'll do well

Basically I'm just a good bull****ter and always did well in the essay/letter/definition questions in the JC, my maths is bad, so maybe a shorter course with more time to study might make up for it if I get some help? I'll ask my careers teacher on triads u and see what he says maybe?

Economics is a great subject to do. The course is tiny (people are generally finished by Christmas of 6th year at the latest) and you have a lot of choice on the paper (you do 6 short questions out of 9 and 4 long questions out of 8). It mostly involves memorisation and it can be very practical and interesting as you will learn about current events such as the recent recession and the oil crisis as well as theory. The maths part of the course is minuscule and completely avoidable, you could easily get 100% in the exam without having a notion about how to any of the calculations. The few calculations that do show up are extremely basic (as in, slot numbers into a formula and and stick the resulting expression into a calculator) and are very repetitive, so don't be put off by that. I would strongly disagree about the questions being tougher than business... Once you practise exam questions and use the marking scheme you won't have any problems. Since the course is so small they have already asked pretty much everything that they can ask at this stage, so once you do the exam questions it's incredibly easy to get a good grade.
