    http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/social_welfare_payments_to_families_and_children/one_parent_family_payment.html

The first €90 of your gross weekly earnings is not taken into account (or disregarded). This means that you can earn up to €90 per week and qualify for the full One-Parent Family Payment.

Half the remainder of your gross earnings up to €425 per week is assessed as means. If you earn between €90 and €425 per week you may qualify for a reduced payment. SW 19 Social Welfare Rates of Payment booklet shows the amount of OPF payable with your means.

Thanks but it doesn't actually state how many hours you are allowed to work

It doesn't matter how many hours you work. It's how much you earn that will determine your continued eligibility for one parent family payment.

If you are working more than 19 hrs a week or 38 per fortnight ( I think), you can qualify for Family Income Supplement FIS. Info on citizens information website and welfare.ie.

No,as another poster said, its based on income not hours worked. You could give the one parent family section a call to clarify. Can take a while to get through but they are very helpful.

You can work as many hours as you like. If you get 20 hpurs guaranteed for at least 3 months you can apply for FIS aswell
If your not happy with this info then you should call to your local SW office, to hear it from them.
