Buying land from dissolved company?

I'm currently trying to buy a bit of land that a local estate agent is selling. I made a offer on it this time last year and the last reply from the agent was that he is having problems getting confirmation from the bank that he can proceed to sell the land.

I checked on the land registry and the land is owned by a ltd. company that dissolved in 2012. It is now c/o a local solicitor.

My question is, is there anyway I can speed up the process?

Could a Mod move this to the accommodation and property forum please?

No, it's a request for legal advice whether it's in accommodation and property or legal discussion.

If you are buying land, you ought to have a solicitor dealing with it and a solicitor will be able to advise you. What I will say is that if the company was dissolved without affecting a transfer of the property to another person, it's going to be a lengthy enough process remedying that issue.
