The area is rich in archaeology. These rocks were placed and stand out like a swore thumb in relation to the surroundings. Looking at the water erosion on the larger rock i believe this must have been horizontal for mant years. The other rock does not show the same erosion. Any thoughts?

Very difficult to say without a wider view of the stones and how they sit in the landscape.
There may be remains of stonecutters' marks along the edge of one of the stones. Do you know what type of rock they are?

Not sure of the rock type but there is a dolmen about 3km away that is made of the same stone. Lots of archaeology about 2-3km away actually. There might even be standing stones near where i took this pic. Need to check the maps. I came across them by chance walking through some very open fields. Next time i am up there ill get some better pics and get some of the other archaeology 2km away.

Loads to be found out there bogwalrus still. I have something gone into the NMS from last week and look forward to hearing what they think.

Tricky from those pictures to be sure what it is, might even be a quarry for tombs.
