    Impact on Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes stations during the St. Patrick’s Festival 2016 (Wed 16th - Sun 20th March)

    To facilitate the Saint Patrick’s Festival, several Coca-Cola Zero dublinbikes stations will be closed or service will be restricted for periods between Wednesday 16th and Monday 21st March.

    Luas services on both the Red and Green Lines will not run on St. Patrick’s Day Thursday 17th March 2016 due to strike action.

    St. Patrick’s Day Special Bus Service

    A Special Bus Service will run on St. Patrick’s Day Thursday 17th March 2016. This bus services will operate from Luas Park + Ride Stops directly to the City Centre.

    Operating Times: The bus service will run from 7.30am to 7.00pm
    Frequency: The bus will run
    every 10 minutes 7.30am to 12.00pm
    every 15 minutes 12.00pm to 2.00pm
    every 10 minutes 2.00pm to 7.00pm
    Tickets:
    Luas pre-paid tickets (7 Day, 30 Day, Monthly & Annual) will be accepted on this bus service
    Leap Cards, including Family Leap Cards, will be accepted on this bus service
    Bus tickets can also be purchased at Luas Park + Ride Stops and city centre Luas/Bus stops. A Single Adult Ticket is €2.00 and a Single Child Ticket is €1.00

    Red Line Special Bus Service Route:
    To City: Buses depart Cheeverstown and Red Cow Park + Ride stops and travel directly to Wolfe Tone Quay (beside Croppies Acre Memorial Park)
    From City: Buses depart Victoria Quay (between Guinness Entrance and Heuston Station) and travel directly to Red Cow and Cheeverstown Park + Ride Stops

    Strike Action Advice to Luas Customers

    Normal Luas services will resume on Friday 18th March at 5.30am
    Customers intending to purchase pre-paid tickets such as 7 Day or 30 Day tickets may wish to consider alternative ticket options
    From Saturday 6th February 2016 a Work-to-Rule has been implemented by Luas SIPTU employees. This may result in some service disruptions and we apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by this Work-to-Rule action
    Luas tickets will be valid on the Special Bus Service but not on services of other public transport service providers during this strike action on Thursday 17th March

    Strike Action Refund Arrangements

    Customers with Luas pre-paid or Tax Saver tickets who are impacted by the strike action will be eligible for a refund. We would advise customers impacted on Thursday 17th March to apply for a refund from Monday 21st March onwards. Click here for details or call Luas Customer Care on LoCall 1850 300 604.

    Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that due to the St. Patrick's Festival there will be a number of diversions in place from Wednesday 16th March to Sunday 20th March 2016. For further details of diversions please click on the links below.

    Nitelink Service
    A full nitelink service will operate on Wednesday 16th March 2016, there will be no nitelink service on Thursday 17th March 2016 and a full nitelink service will operate on Friday 18th March 2016.

    Thursday 17th March 2016 - St. Patrick’s Day
    A Sunday timetable will operate on all routes on St. Patrick’s Day. City Tour, Coastal Tours, 1916 Tour and Ghostbus Tour services will not operate.

    St Patrick's Day service arrangements - Heuston & Connolly going Green to celebrate

    Take the family on a day out by DART for just €20

    Two of our main stations Heuston and Connolly will be “greened” as part of the national celebrations this coming St. Patrick’s day, with the beautiful 19th century facades joining buildings and landmarks in Ireland and around the world in marking our national holiday.

    If you are planning on travelling into Dublin for the parade and live in the short hop zone then you can save up to 24% on single tickets by using a leap smartcard.

    Take the family on a day out by DART for just €20! With our fantastic family tickets a family of 1 or 2 adults and up to 4 children can get unlimited travel by DART or Suburban rail for a day.

    St Patrick’s Day - 17th March
    We expect lots of people to travel across Intercity services St. Patrick's day. Customers are advised to book online and to check train times for Thursday 17th March when there will be some changes to the schedule, for more information go to our timetable section.

    Changes to services include:

    DART and Commuter: A Sunday service will operate, but with extra trains before and after the parade. For crowd control reasons, Tara Street Station will be closed until 16.00hrs.

    Intercity: Services will operate to a revised schedule, and customers are advised to check times before travelling.

    Services to Macroom / West Cork Services will depart from Bus Station and Provincial Stop, Washington Street.
    Black Ash Park & Ride Black Ash Park & Ride will depart from temporary stop on Anglesea Street (across from Market Bar) until approx. 17.25.  Park & Ride services resume at Lapps Quay thereafter.

    Cork County / Suburban     
    Carrigtwohill  Inbound service 13.50 ex Ballinacurra will be unable to serve Carrigtwohill from 13.15 to 14.15
    Ballincollig Main Street will be closed from 13.00 – 17.00 approximately.Outbound services will operate via the Link Road, Barry’s Road and Classis. Inbound services will operate via Muskerry, and Old Fort Road.
    Bandon Inbound and outbound passengers can board at Kellehers from 14.00hrs to 17.00hrs. approx.
    Blarney Inbound and outbound services will operate via the Blarney By-Pass 14.30 hours to 16.30 hours approximately. Passengers can board and depart bus at temporary bus stop on the by-pass at the back of the Church.
    Carrigaline Bus Stop closed from 12.00 hours to 15.30 hours on Thursday 17th March, 2016
    Fermoy Passengers can board / alight at temporary bus stops by Abbeyville Guesthouse from 10.30 to 13.00 approximately.
    Kinsale Main Street in Kinsale will be closed from 15.30 to 17.30 approximately. Services to / from Kinsale will drop off / pick up passengers at the old Supervalu.
    Macroom Passengers that they may board / alight services at Kellehers, New Street or Coachford Junction.
    Midleton  Main Street will be closed from 14.00 hours – 17.00 approximately. All inbound and outbound service will operate via Riverside Way.
    Youghal Main Street will be closed from approx. 15.00 hrs. to 16.30 hrs. Outbound passengers may board buses at Summerfield Cross, Cork Hill or end of Cork Hill. Inbound passengers travelling may board buses at Aherne’s end of Cork Hill and at Summerfield Cross.

    Galway
    Route 401 The 11:20, 12:00, 12:40 and 13:20 city centre departures will depart from the bus stop opposite Woodquay.  Eyre Square, The Spanish Arch, Father Griffin Road  and The Crescent will be without service in each direction from 11:00 to 13:20 inclusive.
    Routes 402 and 405 City Centre departures between 10:40 and 13:40 inclusive will depart from Woodquay.  Eyre Square, Bohermore and Francis Street will be without service in each direction during this period.
    Route 407 The 11:15, 12:15 and 13:15 city centre departures will depart from the bus stop opposite Woodquay.  Eyre Square and Francis Street will be without service in each direction during this period.
    Routes 403 and 409 City Centre departures between 10:40 and 13:30 inclusive will depart from Galway Bus Station. Eyre Square, Bothar Brendain Ui hEither and Forsters Street will be without service during this period.
    Route 419 The 11:10 Galway – Oughterard and 12:00 Oughterard – Galway will divert via The Quincentenary Bridge to Lower Newcastle.  Francis Street, University Road and the bus stop opposite NUIG West Gate will be without service on the 11:10 departure.
    Route 424 The 11:30 Galway – Carraroe and 10:30 Carraroe – Galway will divert via The Quincentenary Bridge, Lower Newcastle and St. Mary’s Road to Lower Salthill. The Spanish Arch, Father Griffin Road and The Crescent will be without service in each direction for these departures.

    Waterford
    Route 360 Customers can access Route 360 Waterford to Tramore service from the Bus Station or Morris’s DIY between 12:00 – 15:00 on Thursday 17th March 2016.
    Expressway Route 40 Customers can access Route 40 Waterford to Cork service from the Bus Station or Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) (opposite the main entrance) from 12:00 – 15:00 on Thursday 17th March 2016.

    Personal Safety


    1. Gardaí are encouraging everybody who wishes to attend the St Patrick’s Day Parade on Thursday 17th March to please use PUBLIC TRANSPORT.

    • The NTA in association with all Public Transport Providers have developed a significant Public Transport network for the day.

    • Consequently if you live outside the M50 try to leave your car outside the M50. If you live inside the M50 try to leave your car outside the Grand Canal on the Southside or outside the North Circular Road on the Northside.


    2. Select the area that you want to view the parade in advance of travelling.

    • Come Early. Get into position and know your route to public transport.

    • Keep children under close supervision. Children should have phone numbers for their guardians in the event of accidental separation. (eg: write it on their clothing tags, their arm or a piece of paper and tell them where it is!)

    • Check the weather and dress appropriately.

    • Mind your belongings.

    • Remember it is illegal to drink alcohol in a public place in Dublin City.

    • Please follow signage and all directions from Stewards and Gardaí

    While it may be a normal working day, I would imagine the amount of people taking Friday off will be significant - traffic will be greatly reduced.

    Aircoach is pleased to advise all passengers that we will be operating a full service on St. Patrick's Day, Thursday 17th March 2016.

    We would, however, like to inform passengers of the following diversions to our service on Thursday 17th March 2016 due to St Patrick's Day parades and celebrations:



    Dublin Airport - Dublin City Centre / Leopardstown route:

    Due to the Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade the following stops will not be in use between 05:00 - 17:00 on Thursday 17th March 2016.

    Westmoreland Street

    O'Connell Street

    O’Connell Bridge

    The following temporary stops and routing will apply.

    Customers Travelling To Dublin Airport:

    All normal stops up to and including Nassau Street (Opposite Reads/Easons) and then:

    Gardiner St Lower - Brown's Hostel

    Gardiner St Upper - Discount Electrical

    From Dublin Airport:

    Gardiner St Upper - Discount Electrical

    Gardiner St Lower - Brown's Hostel

    Pearse Street Station, Westland Row



    Dublin Airport - Bray / Greystones route:

    We would like to advise passengers travelling on our Greystones service on Thursday 17th March 2016 that, due to parades in Bray and Greystones, there may be some minor delays to our service between the following times:

    Greystones: 11.30 - 13.30

    During this time our stop opposite the DART Station will not be used and we would advise customers to use either our stop at Charlesland or Lidl. This will affect the 12.00 & 13:00 departures from Greystones.

    Bray: 13:00 - 16:00

    During this time our stop in Bray at Superquinn will not be used.

    Our service will pick up at the Wilton Hotel stop as normal but the coach will then head along the Bray Southern Cross Road rather than up the Vevay Road. This will affect the13:23, 14:23, and 15:23, departures from Bray (which are the 13:00, 14:00, and 15:00 departures from Greystones).

    The Greystones DART Station and Bray Superquinn stops will also not be used for setting down passengers from Dublin Airport during the times listed above. We will be happy to set down at the alternative stops during this time.



    Dublin Airport - Dun Laoghaire - Dalkey /Killiney:

    We would like to advise passengers travelling on our Killiney / Dalkey service on Thurday 17th March 2016 that, all services are scheduled to operate as normal.

    There may be minor delays to the service as a result of traffic diversions elsewhere in Dublin City.



    Dublin Airport - Cork (via Dublin City Centre) route:

    Dublin - Cork

    Our departures from Dublin Airport to Cork are all due to operate as per schedule however there will be some changes along the route.

    The 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00 , 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 17:00 services from Dublin City Centre to Cork will, depart from Wood Quay on the south bank of the River Liffey due to Westmoreland Street being closed.

    The 18:00, 19:00, 20:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00 services are scheduled to depart from Westmoreland street as normal.



    Belfast - Dublin Airport - Dublin City Centre route:

    Our departures from Belfast via Dublin Airport to Dublin City Centre are all scheduled to operate as per schedule however there will be some changes along the route.

    Due to the Dublin St Patrick's Day parade O'Connell Street stops will not be in use from 05:00 until 17:00 on Thursday 17th March 2016.

    The following temporary stops and routing will apply.

    Customers Travelling to Belfast from Dublin City Centre:

    Gardiner St Upper - Discount Electrical (pick up and set down stop)

    We’ll operate a Saturday schedule on Patrick’s Day, minus the late night departures (500N). We will be running a full service for the Easter Rising events and will publish full details of this as soon as we’re over Patrick’s Day.

    I am aware of St. Patrick’s Day parades taking place in Maynooth, Leixlip, Lucan and Clondalkin on March 17 2016. If you could let me know which route and the time you intend to travel at, I will be able to provide you with information of possible diversions set to be in place.

    There will be some road closures in place, but these closures will not affect all of our operating times. This is why I am enquiring about your intended time of travel.
