If anyones familiar with the usual 2 metre pop up stands for advertising, what Im advertising will be changing on a regular basis so be handier if I had a projector to go on to a blank popup canvas/dark wall.

Im familiar with a bog standard conference room type projector but thats it. Ive seen little laser things but not sure whether suitable. I cant guarantee the lighting where Im going to be using it but as long as it works and is clear for most environments it will do so looking to see whats out there. (apologies if this isnt right place for this thread).

How long would you be running the projector? The bulbs generally have a lifespan of 3000 hours, which isn't a lot. You also really need a dark room to get the best out of them. If the room isn't completely dark there's a good chance most people won't be able to see whats on the screen properly.

They also require a fair bit of space, it's not as simple as making space for the little projector box, it needs a good 6 ft in front of it and that whole area becomes a no go zone or your blocking the image.

It's would probably be cheaper and less hassle to just buy a cheap flatscreen.

What you'd need is a short throw projector to make it suitable for mobile use. That way you don't have to create a large exclusion zone. You're talking north of €1200 though.

I would highly recommend a TV over a projector for advertising. Projectors need a dark room, and also simply don't have the same level of brightness, contrast, vibrance, saturation of colour, and are generally not as sharp as a TV. Ads would look MUCH better on a TV screen.

Yeah, projectors are fantastic, under the right conditions. If any of those conditions are even slightly off the quality plummets rapidly.

You can get purpose made digital signage. Which is basically a comercial grade flat screen LCD. They have a longer lifespan than a TV and are much more robust, designed to run 24/7. They'd be the displays you'd see in shop windows or at the airport displaying flight times.

They're pricey though and usually not full HD. If you're not running the screen 24/7 then a normal TV will do the trick almost as good.
