Midi/Maxi Dress

Ive three summer weddings and the first is in seven weeks. Ive been looking for ages but no joy. Im 32 and a size 14. I always wear maxi dresses with flats as I hate my calves on display. However I like midi dresses. I think there younger looking and with heels id get away with the slightly bigger calves!!
Id love something with cap sleeves and a bright summer colour. I love the style of dresses where the top and skirt are different. Ive tryed Asos and Littlewoods and Debnahams.

Gorgeous dresses. Have you looked in department stores like: Dillards, Nordstrom, Belk, JcPenny, Macy's yet? Also stores like Maurices, Charlotte Rousse, and Dressbarn may have something you're looking for.

Most posters on this site are based in Ireland. I'm not sure would those stores deliver here.

What about Coast or Karen Millen in Kildare Village? They normally have a great selection and more affordable prices.

The Coast dress you linked is gorgeous, love the colour and the style of the skirt. As you have said you like where the top and skirt are different would you consider wearing separates? That way you could pair different tops with the skirt and get more wear out of it?

Try ladyvb.com they are an irish site for an actual boutique based in Cork? But they have some lovely dresses and even some top and skirt combos that when paired together would give you the look that your after. Plus their clothing are for the most part reasonably priced and delivery is really quick too.
I have no connection to them - I have just shopped online with them a few times and like their stuff - I was just looking at their new arrivals on facebook before I read this post and thats why I thought of them!

I can't multi quote! I'm hoping to go to Kildare Village next week. Coast is closed there but I will have a good look around. I love the Coast dresses on the Next site. The skirt and top idea is a great idea. However all the skirts are bordering on too short for me. Honestly my legs aren't great. I looked on the ladyvb.com site. Very very impressed. The prices are excellent.

That dress is gorgeous and much cheaper than Coast dresses. It's a tad on the short side of midi for my legs!! I haven't got anything and stopped looking. I'm hoping I'll be lucky and randomly browsing and find a show stopper!!

Have you been on Asos? I've 5 weddings this summer so I feel you pain. I've got 3 dresses from Asos so far, mostly midi, but a bit of a variance in length. I also bought one on Chichi London and another from Coast (Arnotts sale).

Anyhow, I've found Asos great because they've started a subsection called dresses for weddings. Now they're not all to my taste but there are some gems. Free delivery, and now also free returns as of last week!
