    Lads,

I received tax back in the past few days, and this was inadvertantly delivered in the post to a family member of mine who has the same name and address.

Without realising, he lodged it to his bank a/c, but now it has come to light that it was actually mine.

Should this be declared or would I be liable for any sort of tax?

can't see how it would be need to be declared for tax. Its a simple mistake and assuming you are on good terms with the family member, just ask for the money back. if you aren't on good terms - oops.

Simple repayment. Not sure why you think there would be a tax issue.
