Can anyone recommend a cheap usb or Bluetooth diagnostic reader that will read the error codes on a 2004 MK1 Focus, 1.4 Petrol? Ebay or wherever is ideal.

I bought one before and it didn't work but did read codes on my mates Laguna. Seems to be a bit of confusion about which ones work with which.

    I have one of these:

    Memoscan U480 handheld OBD-II scanner

    ...and one of these:

    ELM327 Bluetooth OBD-II adapter

...which I use with the Torque Pro Android app. They both work well enough with standard OBD-II, including most Fords I've encountered. Note that cheap little devices like that only do standard, open-interface Core Powertrain OBD-II and things like airbags, ABS and so on are out of reach of them.
