Looking to get or make some trellis in the garden.
Was thinking of either making it from 6mm stainless steel bar, or 100mm galvanised mesh (used in foundations) or timber
Has anyone used either of these
Super low maintenance is the idea
Could possibly bend back the top to hang it off the top of the wall to make it removeable

I can't offer any advice on material, except to say stainless steel sounds very expensive and the efficiency of timber depends on the kind of wood, the way it is fixed and what you are growing up it. Some plants will destroy wooden trellis eventually. One point I would make though is that the mesh needs to sit a little way clear of the wall to allow tendrils and new shoots to grow through and round the slats/wires.

always used wood, painted with chicken wire attached for climbers (not always necessary) Painted once every 5 years or so

We're making a new wall trellis in panels 1800mm x 700mm with 26mm x 6mm flat steel plate spotwelded and fixed to 90x90 mm steel box section posts with ball finials. All steel will be galvanised and powder coated black to produce an exceptional garden wall screen and a unique feature requiring no maintenance.
