i checked out emmissions on this and its 150g/km
    this equates to 390 annual
if this is the case why is it when i went looking at one in the dealers its 570 annual.

Put the reg into www.motortax.ie and you will get the correct rate.
Cars often have revised emissions as they get newer.

Could be different rates for a manual or auto too

I think the 2.0 HDI engine got revised in 2009 with lower emissions, the 407 got a facelift around the same time so the higher tax one might be a pre facelift model.

    https://www.energy.eu/car-co2-emissions/peugeot.php
any 407 sw 2L in here is 150g/km
therefore should they be € 390?

    EDIT:
    could this have been a 2008 (159g/km = 570€ ) model registered in 2009?

    I think so!

Bought this car.good deal even if high tax.
    570 pet annum.
Query is that I have not received tax cert in my name as yet.got proof of ownership couple of weeks ago.
I think I may have to call them.
Should I also query the gap in the tax level for an 09 car?

You'll owe the back tax on it so. Even if it includes a few days of a month.

It sounds to me as though you have received the VLC in your name but are waiting for a tax renewal form?

If this is the case then you are mistaken. You don't get any tax form before the first taxing of the vehicle. Once the vehicle is in your name you are free to tax it but will not be prompted to do so. You can tax it either online on the motortax website or by filling out form RF100A and calling to the tax office in person or sending it off by post.

    No. Don't bother.
