What do people think about this? Seems odd, as the family live at the same address, yet the father represented his daughter in the suit against his wife?

Not in the least odd, happens very frequently, and is perfectly sensible. The child cannot be denied access to compensation just because the person who may have been negligent is a parent or relation.
