What are the benefits of it compared to my present 2 meg broadband?

(I am not asking if I should upgrade -that is a no brainer)

Its faster, and you get a lot more upload.

    2_0.2 to 12_1.

The upload makes Skype Video/Facetime/FB Video calls possible.

Any websites that require or benefit from that kind of a speed to use?

Netflix uses about 5-8mbit to stream in full HD quality, with speeds lower than that it reduces picture quality to cope. 1080p YouTube will use about 4-5mbit. You'll see great benefit if the jump to 12mbit.

Practically speaking and IMO it's a far more useful upgrade to go from 2Mb to 12Mb than someone going from 12Mb to 80Mb (assuming a single user and not a whole family), at the moment. In the medium term it will be "too slow" again but they should have something better for you by then anyway.
