Replacing windows in apt

I have a timber frame window and door in my sitting room facing out onto my balcony.

I am toying with the idea of replacing with a window and sliding door so that I can get the full use of my balcony as it's not very big and the door opening out onto it means it's not being used to the full potential.

Just wondering has anybody ever done this before? Not even sure if I would need permission from my mgt company as I am on the top floor.

Yes you would need management company approval, if the look was different you might also need planning, and if the design was different you could conceivably need a new fire cert. Not trying to put you off but it might be a lot more to it
