Do you have to pay to park if charging an EV at a train station?
I thought I saw an article about this recently but I cant find it now.

AFAIK, when connected to a charge point you do not have to pay for Irish Rail car parks (with the exception of Heuston) but you do have to pay for Luas P+R.

I'd ask at the station and double check.

I got an email from Ecars last week

Iarnród Éireann – Free Parking for EVs when Charging at Irish Rail & DART Stations
ESB and Iarnród Éireann have together delivered a network of over 40 electric vehicle (EV) charge points at Irish Rail and DART stations throughout the country. Iarnród Éireann will provide free parking for EV drivers when charging their vehicles at these locations.

If you park there for free are you not blocking the charger ?

Not if your charging. Once the car is charged your meant to move...that's the downside of having a 6.6kw charger 😜

Or you could keep remotely turning on the heat so that it's drawing some sort of charge :P
