    Why don't you link out the stat long enough to see if the fridge gets down to temperature when you close the door?
    If not then what you have described is generally a symptom of being low on refrigerant. You'll probably find that the freezer is above what it should be (-20C) also.
    By the time the refrigerant gets to the fridge compartment it will be too warm to cool the fridge compartment.
    Sadly it's probably not economic to repair it if this is the case.

    This type of fridge does not actually bring any refrigerant, up into the top of the fridge. Instead there is a heat exchanger inside the freezer, which freezes the bottom of the fridge, and there is a fan which blows chilled air from the heat exchanger, into the bottom cabinet. Some of this cold air is also blown up into the top of the fridge.

    The thermostat keeps this fan running until the top cabinet has reached the desired temperature.

    Now putting a fan to make cold air rise seems to me to be a tad inefficient.

    But then I have always thought that having the motor at the bottom of the fridge was a bad idea anyway.

    The fridge is currently working so we will see but I will bet that the fan will fail after a few years.

    Very good martin, seems there are umpteen different varieties of fridge freezers out there with widely varying methods of operation!
