How much would it cost to bring a house thats divided up into flats up to the building codes of today ?

    Is it a protected structure?

Depends on how the house was split in the first place. No internal shots are worrying. The discolouration on the brickwork in the front(with similar patterns on the other houses in the terrace) is even more worrying. The next door building is not ideal but it also has some monstrosity of a extension behind it which would be up against that property.

We have a building costs forum, if you are serious in the question you ask OP we can move the thread there. Or are you just speaking hypothetically?

It depends very much on what you want to do with them. If you want to keep them "units" as in breaking a 3/4 storey house in various apartments. That will be quite pricey. But if you want to stick a pre 63 into a house, it will be a lot cheaper. A lot of them are quite structurally sound if they are on streets like the NCR, since they arent that old compared to Dublin 1/2. Pre 63s vary in size greatly. I have seen some that are 1200 sq ft, while others are close to 4000 sq feet.
