Pokemon X for USA Nintendo 3DS console

Hi folks... son wanted Pokemon X for his Nintendo 3DS. I couldn't get it for love nor money before Xmas so I bought one online from USA. I didn't know it would only work on a US console, DOH!.

So now I have it and still don't have the version that will work on the 'Irish' console. And the price for it is through the roof.

Anybody got any ideas on it eg. possible to swap/trade it anywhere for the one I want?
