This time of year is a great time to look for summer work. Use any contacts you have- friends, family that work in a company you would be interested in. Drop your CV into big shops, restaurants etc. Take any hours offered to start with- you can usually increase or change hours once you get started in a job. Good luck.

I don't know whereabouts you live but in terms of retail where I saw "no experience required" fairly recently in an advert was Clarks the shoe store, I don't know if you'd be into retail but it could be a good place to drop a CV into if you have a Clarks nearby. But yeah most retailers will take on a couple of extra sometimes for summer sale, it doesn't always last the whole summer though but its a good place to start and if you make an impression during even a temp contract you'll sometimes be kept on afterwards.

Probably a dumb question, but how does one drop their cv in? Do i just hand it to a random employee and ask them to pass it on to their manager or...?

Ask if the manager/shift manager is available if you can and ask them to review it if they have any vacancies. Try and look reasonably smart while doing so.

CV drops like this are an ok place to start but expect to drop a few hundred before you get a response as its very broad and not targeted. If you can find a friends parent/relative that's looking for extra hands its a stronger bet, a bit of nepotism never hurt.
