Hi folks, just bought a minor and I know I'll need a few bits and pieces over the next while. Is there any breakers in the greater Dublin area specializing in them, or anyone that is known for a collection of cars/bits?

maybe there was twenty years ago.... the UK is your best bet (join a club, they'll have a spares scheme)

It's worth while regularly checking on Adverts.ie and Donedeal.ie for collectors selling off spare parts. And/Or place a Wanted advert on either website.

Ah yeah, doing the above, but you know the way there's always some oul fella with a barn/field/shed full of a particular car/bike/tractor model bits and bodies that he's collected since the year dot? Well I was sorta hoping to find him! :D

Might be an idea to check out some of the specialists for other BMC brands.

A lot of Mini or MG parts will fit a Minor.

The Mini's A-series engine, being an obvious example.

^^^ There is an MG specialist based in N.I. ...called 'Just MG's' or something like that. They regularly have a stall at the Terenure Show and other larger car shows.

It would be interesting to know of any breakers who do actually have older/classic cars in stock?!

By the way winnie, that bulb is not needed now. I ordered the halogen replacements from GS Jones on Monday night and they arrived tonight! It was very good of you and highly appreciated.

True, but they use the same the same basic A-series engine & will have a lot of parts in common.

You can use the cylinder head,pistons,con-rods,camshaft,timing gear, etc.

BMC brands have a lot of interchangable parts.
