Hey everyone, over the last while Ive noticed my social circle has decreased due to a number of factors....work, people moving away, people finding partners etc..

Im just looking for some ideas to meet some new people, join a group, volunteer, take up an evening course, anything really to increase my social circle! Im a male in my mid-late 20's, if that helps.

Cheers for the advice in advance!

Sligo Volunteer Centre have a lot of volunteering roles listed that might be of interest. http://www.volunteersligo.ie/

MSL ETB run evening courses - they are located down by The Quayside/Chamber of Commerce.

Had joined the gym during the winter months mainly for treadmill work and had enjoyed running and had planned to take it up a notch in the spring/summer months coffee fueled, but ended up with a foot injury that kept reoccurring so running is a no go at the min unfortunately! Was not happy at all!

Try cycling, lower impact than running, plenty of cycling clubs in Sligo, if you're looking that helps with fitness as well as meeting new people.

There's loads of sports clubs you could join depending on preference.

It that's not your thing, how about the Sligo mens shed?

    Volunteer wise
    Sligo Tidy Towns
    Samaritans
    Simon Community

and as mentioned above, Rennafix, who hold great local events that are sure to attract people in your age category.

There's an art group which meets up randomly in the swagman. They've a facebook page if you look for "drink and draw swagman" on FB. Usually tuesdays they meet. Keep meaning to go myself and check it out. It's free, just similiar minds catching up. All levels of sketching welcome.

Sligo Spanish Society regularly run events that are open to the public, most of them in English. Attendees of all ages and backgrounds, open, friendly atmosphere.

Event this Friday in the Yeats Building at 8pm, a talk in English about Costa Rica entitled "Exploring the Unknown", by Costa Rican native Maritza Loaiza. €5 in, includes wine and tapas afterwards. There will also be a chance to sample some authentic Costa Rican food.
