Hi, not looking for medical advice just to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.

I'm aware it's not a long term illness but not sure where else to post this. I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis back in January and am on 40mg Prednisolone a day soon to be reduced to 30mg. Last Wednesday I got the winter vomiting bug (it was horrific and I wanted to die 😷😖) and I've had it before and it lasted two days tops. I still have it now 4 days later and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a prolonged illness with Sarcoid or being on high doses of steroids.
I'm Going to doc tomorrow but just wondering.

    Hi,
Sorry to hear you are unwell.
I have sarcoidosis in my lungs. I was diagnosed 7 years ago after a 3 month long "flu".
I was on a simbicort inhaler for about 3 years & the worst of my symptom were gone within a year.
I had 2 relapses since but both have been milder episodes lasting only a few weeks.
I did find I was definately more prone to viruses in the first few years but now I seem to be ok.
I dont need my inhaler anymore & I dont need to see my specialist anymore either unless I get another relapse.
Personally i think my immune system was weak for the first year & any other illness i got lasted longer than normal.
    Hope that helps
