Self tapping screws?

I'm sure this has been covered but I'd really appreciate any help. I bought a heater for my bedroom this week got it home and realised that the feet need to be screwed on using self tapping screws. Now there are holes at the bottom of the heater but they're not grooved so the screws are just twisting around in them. I think I may be supposed to drill them in but I don't have a drill, if I take it back to the shop will they be able to do it for me (I have no problem looking like a fool) or will I have to source a drill? Or am I missing the point altogether?

    Thanks in advance

Any photos? Someone might be able to suggest options.

I doubt that you should need a drill to assemble any domestic heater.

A small bit of force onto the screw driver and self tapping screw will make its way into the hole.
That is what self tapping means - it will make its own hole and thread in.
