    Hi

I am not good with styling hair at all, I would like to try get bouncy large curls. I was looking on the boots website for a wide barrel curling iron/tongs when I saw the I styler. I am wondering what is easiest to use and gives best results?

I use the instyler and absolutely love it. I find it creates a curl much bigger than youd get with any other curler and lasts much longer too. It takes a bit of getting used to and and can be a bit difficult to use, but is well worth the effort and the spend in my opinion.

Can anyone recommend some good tutorials for the instyler - like instyler for dummies :D I have one but can't do anything decent with it :(

I've got to say the instyler did NOTHING for my hair except kink it a little bit. No curl at all. Have a cheap remington pearl wand and it's the best thing I've ever used to curl my hair.

I have long hair, not that thick, but no layers cut in.

Tried my friend's - the rotating one. Frightened the life out of me. My hair is short and dead straight and it tangled it in the first pass, took 15 mins to de-tangle my hair. I decided to stick to my G3 Salon Pro styling iron - it curls or straightens and I control it, not the machine!

Same. I have mine about a year and I've only used it a handful of times. Can't get the hang of it at all. Use my Remington Pearl and get good results.

I have an Instyler and find it ok. If I have lots of time to get ready I will use my Babyliss heated rollers - love them!

Same here. I've only used the instyler once or twice after a blogger promoted it.....should have realised it was an advertisement! Luckily I got it half price in argos at the time....would hate to have paid full price for it! Use my pearl wand all the time and always get compliments from family and friends. A much cheaper and better option imo.

I'll second this. I'm by no means incapable of styling my own hair and using hair tools, in fact I'd wager that I'm more competent than most in that I style my own hair for weddings etc and always have comments saying it looks professcional, but this tool is one I just couldn't get the hang of. I found it extremely difficult to use.
If you like a straight, sleek look it might be suitable but for curling or creating waves and volume I found it absolutely useless. Not a great product at all and I regret buying it. Similar to the above poster I get much better, more consistent results from a ceramic pearl wand and would go down that road rather than get the instyler.
