    Quick question..interested in some sheep terminology i read today.... when people refer to a 2 crop / 3 crop or 4 crop ewe etc what are they referring to? The number of times the ewe has lambed? Age? ......also what is a 'dam' refer to?

    Thanks in advance!

    you're right on the crop, I don't think it should be used as there's some ewe's that have their first crop as hoggets and others as 2 year olds

    dam = genetic mother
