Tickets for BrewCon 2016 are now on sale to the general public. BrewCon 2016, Ireland’s only homebrew conference aimed solely at all levels of brewers & brewing, is being held on Saturday April 23rd, at the historic Smock Alley Theatre.

The primary role of the NHC is to improve the standard of home brewed beer and this year’s theme centres around “Pushing the Boundaries” of brewing and will focus on furthering our member’s homebrew education, teaching them how to turn good beers, into great beers!

Gordon Strong, President of the BJCP is this years BrewCon 2016's keynote speaker. Also speaking, Chip Walton of Summit Brewing, former videographer/editor/producer of Brewing TV and presenter of Chop & Brew, a blog and web show about unorthodox ingredients and fermentations. Dr Bill Simpson from CARA Technology will give a talk on the flavour profiles of the most popular styles and we'll have a talk on how to perfect your water treatment.

We’ll also have the usual goody bag stuffed with loads of goodies (worth as much as the ticket alone), food and drink at the main break and entry to the beer tasting session in the food hall after the last talk where you will have the opportunity to have one on one discussions with any of the speakers. I'm particularly excited about this as we have lined up some great beers this year to serve up!

    About
The National Homebrew Club (NHC) is Ireland’s single biggest collective of homebrewers, with representation in all four provinces.

Established in 2011, it was founded to fulfil the needs of homebrewers in Ireland.

The NHC has gone from strength to strength, currently with over 350 full members and 1,000 associates of the Club. It is a non-profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers from all four corners of the island and it has put home brewing back on the map in Ireland.

The club caters specifically for needs of home brewers, providing advice through a local club network and an active online forum.

The NHC’s biggest event every year is the National Brewing Championships, with over 400 entries in 2016; judging beer to international standards, by 60 qualified BJCP judges and commercial brewers.

The primary role of the NHC is to improve the standard of home brewed beer and support those parties that want to make their hobby commercial. Over 12 homebrewers, who have come from within our ranks, have taken the plunge to go commercial in the last number of years.

It is active in promoting a range of activities include brewing demonstrations, organising training (BJCP), Little Talks sessions, managing & supporting local and national competitions.
