Sat cable feed/splitter issues

2 LNB cable feeds, split to 4 with a pair of these http://powercity.ie/?par=30-72-SATCOM. In turn these feed Sky+ HD box and Vu+ Solo2 unit. Worked fine but within 24 hours one feed signal dissapeared (signal checked on both boxes). Have I done something wrong or is it just a case of a dud splitter?

YES you have. You cannot split satellite feeds as the receivers send band information to the LNB. Two receivers will cause conflict. That is why you get quad and octo LNBs.

OP The combiner/splitters you got are designed to take a terrestrial feed in along with a satellite feed.

They might still be useful depending on your setup!
