Recommend a torque wrench

As above, can anyone recommend a torque wrench for my bikes. The MTB needs stripping soon so want to make sure I'm torque'd (is that a word?) back up correctly.

Budget is tight but I know good ones aren't cheap.

No need to get something bike specific, there are options on Amazon that are cheaper:

The main thing you need to consider is, the range of torque you need to cover (Nm) and whether you need to get sockets(bits) too.

I just bought a new 3k carbon bike, my first road bike, and spent the last week deliberating over the purchase of a torque wrench before finally settling on this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Norbar-13285-Torque-Wrench/dp/B00JEDOXN4 It hasn't arrived yet so i can't comment any further, but it torques from 1-20nm in .05 increments and for anything beyond that ill leave it to my LBS. Might be worth a look.

I can only ever recall having to use 4/5/6 on a bike.

I have this one also. Have it two years now, used it countless times without fault.

Remember to zero it after each use. Apparently leaving it wound up to 6 or 7Nm or whatever you have it set at can cause stretching on the springs or whatever are inside and cause inaccurate torque specs over time.

Ya, it's probably overkill, but i figure it's a lifetime job and I have other uses for it.

Bottom brackets and cassette lock rings will need 40+. I bought a second one in halfords for the higher range of torques. Cheaper ones are also available from time to time in aldi and lidl.
