    Help!

are you sure that its just not on a channel thats encrypted in the new channel list
Or do you get no video out at all
If you switch it off and restart do you see any boot or logo on the tv
    ?

If the firmware is corrupt or the wrong fw/ channel list was installed
You may possibly need to reflash the firmware via rs232 ( the com / serial port on the rear )
You may need to download the firmware and updater from this site
    http://www.sabsatellite.nl/en/site/product/780

    http://www.dvbstand.com/sw/How%20can%20you%20download%20new%20software%20to%20your%20sab%20titan%20receiver%20with%20com%20port%20RS232.pdf

Hopefully it will be something simple like the wrong output / scart instead of hd or something like that

Hoping someone can help me as I am having the same problem as Bilbert55

I downloaded a channel list and selected uploaded to new box but selected All SW & Boot loader by mistake

upon restart the box will not come on?

LCD has "ON" on the display and flickers "ON/on" as times with no video output?

I have an old laptop with RS232 and have got a RS232 Cable, I have downloaded the update tool but I cannot get the box re flashed at all. I would appreciate any help with this as it is driving me up the walls at min...is there any instructions available to help with this procedure, I have searched on google with no luck as there doesn't seem to be much info available for the sab titans?

I would much appreciate help with this problem.

You must have the box off, you only turn it on at the rocker switch when you click next.

STB I have followed all instructions as shown in link above but I cannot get the data to transfer...my box was flashed with a chanel list on 'all software + bootloader' and is now stuck with 'ON' on display? I thought I had been using the wrong cables so I went and ordered a new 9 Pin Serial Cable DB9 RS232 Female To Female and this is doing the same thing ''Transfer Data Failed''. I would appreciate any help as this is very frustrating.

A Null modem cable and a Serial cable are not the same thing. They are wired differently. When you bought the second one where did you buy it and did it specify that it was a "Null modem cable" for a satellite box. There are so many of these stupid cables masquerading as one and other, that causes unnecessary confusion, as they are wired differently.

The key to all of these ali chip boxes is that once you have the proper ABS file for your box and the right upgrade software tool, that you pick the R232 port on your PC (default is 1, but it could be another port number depending on your PC's setup). the last stage is to only turn the box on at the switch on the back of the box when you click NEXT.

Stb I bought the cable on ebay, its Serial (RS-232) Female To Serial (RS-232) Female, I probably need toget a rs232 null modem cable then? Can you advise correct cable to buy? Thanks in advance.

Its not your fault. Its the people selling them being disingenuous.

If you see the word straight through its not the cable you want. Why companies would suggest that they are suitable for flashing boxes is beyond me. Straight through means there is no talking between the PC and set top box - meaning they cannot accept data, which is what you are trying to transfer. These "straight through" cables are serial cables not null modem. You would think that they would get that right, especially if they are also selling satellite boxes. The cables look alike, but as the wiring cannot be seen as the cables are moulded and you have to take what they say at face value or make sure that the cable wiring config matches the picture below.

The cable config should be crossed like this one €4 including postage

STB After Using the Null Modem cable I am able to download the software file to the box.
The next phase is burning the software to the box memory but am getting this Burn Flash Failed error below straight away!! It doesn’t go past 0%. Can you advise if I am I doing something wrong?

Will you just confirm that your box is actually a "Sab Titan III Combo" ?

If it is then the firmware is here

The software to load the firmware is here

Unzip the software. There are 2 files LZMA (a compression tool) and the Upgrade tool. Double click the upgrade exe.

The setting in the upgrade tool should be.

As this is a M3516 ALI chip I am not sure if the load and burn sequence is one and the same. One way to find out.

When you get to next on the initial next, make sure the box is turn off. What happens if you click next then, does it still go to 100% and then ask you to click next at the burn sequence or does it fail. If it doesn't fail initially at the second next turn your box on at the switch at the back.

Otherwise just turn your box on at the first next and it should just do it itself. You may have to try this several times to get it to flash to the eerom.

STB thank you for sharing all these detailed instructions. I know it's been a while since this discussion was active, but I need to upload the firmware for the SAB Titan lll, and I have the null modem cable, but the link you posted last year no longer works. Do you know where I would find a working link? I've tried the Sab satellite website, but it's all Dutch to me! I can't figure out if the firmware link is available there or not. Any help would be very much appreciated.
