A friend of mine is on the btwea, he has done 1 year so far. He's an electrician in a rural area, and business is sh1te he says.

Last year he made 8000. Not good enough, but with the btwea he was ok.

He's wondering that when the btwea ends in 10 months time for him, is there any assistance after that if he stays working for himself?

So let's say he works 2 days one week, 4 the next, 1 the next etc, will he be able to get some assistance at all? He has no college qualifications, only his electrician qualifications so it'd be hard for him to get another job, that's why he went on the btwea.

He's worried he'll either i) have to go back on welfare full time or

ii) have to stay self employed with no work coming in and no assistance

    Any help would be great.

    Tom
