Where to dispose of unmarked chemicals

Cleared out a shed of my uncle's and found a few jars of some sort of liquid in them. There's no label of any kind on the jars and they're probably lying there for the guts of 40 years. At a guess, it's MCPA or something similar. Any idea where I can get rid of them? I know Teagasc had of couple of days last year where you could bring unused or unwanted chemicals but they had to be in their original containers and clearly marked. Suppose I could send a sample of to a lab to find out what it is. Where would I send the sample?

Thanks for any help you's can come up with.

Google hazardous waste and you will find a place near you that takes it
There are also collection points at Mart's around the country at certain times of the year.
Spraying it ata very diluted rate during dry weather might be ok but don't let it anywhere near a water course a few milliliters can contaminate over 60 km of a river

I can't help thinking that while it's most likely an agricultural chemical of some type while it's identity is unknown the first two points are safer than the third.

It's impressive that ye retained the information. I'd say most people see it as a box ticking exercise.

We brought stuff to our local mart just before Christmas. It was only a few old cans of spray and paint and about 6 oil filters everything fitted in the back of the caddy. It cost €100 to dispose of it , the feeling of doing something good for the environment wasn't long about wearing off. I felt sorry for the poor lads who brought trailer loads of stuff
