Washing Machine Not Draining

My washing machine is not draining. I've checked the filter and it's clear. The outlet hose also appears clear. I manually drained it and ran a rinse and it didn't drain after that either.

I'm thinking it must be the pump. If this is the case is it worth getting it replaced? It's 9 years old at this stage.

    Thanks

The eternal question. My machine is approaching the same age and is beginning to act up. I am expecting it to die any day and will replace rather than repair.

If it was me,I wouldn't think twice about scrapping it and heading off to Power City.
Nine years is end of life for a washing machine, and a repair could easily cost half a new machine. And you'd still have a machine heading towards a decade old.

You should be able to see the pump impeller in the "well" after you remove the cartridge filter and then the flat mesh screen, there should be a very narrow opening adjacent to the impeller, I have, on two occasions, found (1) a bit of clear plastic paper and (2) a bit of glass obscuring the opening preventing pump out., its worth a look.

Washing machines are fairly basic , if it's not draining it's the pump or blockage , you can take out the pump and see if the impeller moves freely.
