Transferable train ticket

Quick emergency question. I have a ticket for 8am train from Heuston to Cork this morning. I'm not going to make that. Can I use it for the next one at 9am or am I going to have to pay a big walk-up fare?

You need (as you may have found out) to go to the booking office and pay a €10 change fee.
