Toilet Syphon Issue

    Hi

Didn't know whether to post here or in the plumbing forum, so if wrong place, please can a mod move. Thanks.

I've just had to replace the seal at the back of the toilet bowl where the intake from the cistern flows in through.

After reassembly the flow rate is poor and the handle has greater resistance. If I let go of the handle the flush does not complete by itself.

I think that something is affecting the syphon. The only potential issue I can see is there is a small gasket inside the syphon which seems to be resting on the flush pipe which connects down into the toilet bowl.

It is the small seal in the image below. Should it fit onto the flush pipe inside the syphon, onto the flush pipe nut or does it go elsewhere? There is no valve on the tank so I don't want to muck about at this much.

    Thanks.

    Anyone?

I've rechecked the system. Both the nuts on the syphon are correctly attached along with their respective washers.

There is another washer in the syphon where the flush pipe is inserted. This washer seems to sit on top of the flush pip inside the syphon. (i.e. on the above image it sits inside the tube on top the the flush pipe which is inside the left part of the syphon). Could it be the problem? I remember it falling onto the floor during disassembly and figured that this was the only place it could go.

    Thanks.
